From start to finish: The stages of your Laos expedition

2,000 kilometers that demand everything and give everything:

Day 1. Welcome to the Rose of the North (Chiang Mai)

Upon your arrival at the airport, we will pick you up and take you to our comfortable tour hotel in the heart of Chiang Mai. Take some time for sightseeing, shopping, or relaxing by the pool. In the evening, we will enjoy our first dinner together right on the riverbank and then immerse ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the famous night market.

Day 2: Departure for the Mekong (Chiang Mai – Chiang Khong)

Today you'll pick up your motorcycles and we'll head north. Nature is already showing off its best side: we'll pass hot springs and, just before Chiang Rai, visit the impressive "White Temple" (Wat Rong Khun). Our destination for the day is the border town of Chiang Khong, where we'll spend the night right on the Mekong River and catch our first glimpse of Laos on the opposite shore.

Day 3. Crossing the border into another world (Chiang Khong – Luang Namtha)

After completing border formalities, we cross the Friendship Bridge into Laos. Here, everything changes: civilization recedes, and nature becomes wilder. Our route takes us through the majestic mountains of northern Laos, past villages of ethnic minorities, to Luang Namtha. We spend the night in a simple, authentic resort and enjoy our first taste of genuine Laotian cuisine.

Day 4. Curved roads and river panoramas (Luang Namtha – Nong Khiaw)

230 kilometers of pure driving pleasure! The route winds through countless villages and offers spectacular viewpoints overlooking the northern highlands. In the late afternoon, we reach Nong Khiaw. At a small resort on the banks of the Nam Ou River, we end the day's driving with a drink and a breathtaking sunset.

Day 5. Heading towards the World Heritage Site (Nong Khiaw – Luang Prabang)

After breakfast, we travel through stunning valleys towards Luang Prabang. This UNESCO World Heritage city welcomes us with its unique charm. We check into our guesthouse on the banks of the Nam Khan River. The evening is dedicated to culture: visit the arts and crafts night market or stroll through the historic streets.

Day 6. Relaxation and natural wonders (Luang Prabang – Sightseeing)

A day to relax. Those who wish can unwind in the city's cafes or take advantage of the laundry service. As a highlight, our guide offers a tour to one of the region's most spectacular waterfalls. Anyone with energy to spare can climb Wat Phousi for a panoramic view of the Mekong before we enjoy the evening in one of the charming riverside restaurants.

Day 7. The big challenge (Luang Prabang – Vang Vieng)

Today's route demands our full attention. After a detour to a hidden waterfall (by boat), we'll climb extremely winding mountain passes. The driving challenge is significant, but the reward is immediate: spectacular views of rugged mountain peaks accompany us all the way to the Vang Vieng valley, where our resort with a pool awaits.

Day 8. Across the roof of Laos (Vang Vieng – Sayaboury)

A day of superlatives: We cross the highest pass of this tour at over 1,800 meters. The landscape is as challenging as it is breathtaking. After conquering the steep mountain trails, we refuel at a local restaurant before reaching the charming village of Sayaboury in the evening.

Day 9. Jungle tracks and return (Sayaboury – Pua / Thailand)

We descend deep into the exotic jungle landscape on very narrow, winding roads. We pass remote mountain villages before reaching Thai soil again at the Huay Khon border crossing at midday. In Pua, we enjoy the comfort of our resort and the sweeping views across the rolling hills of Thailand.

Day 10. A dream of curves at the highest level (Pua – Phayao)

Today, a real treat awaits us: one of the ten most beautiful motorcycle roads in the world leads us through a breathtaking mountain landscape. Perfectly sweeping curves will make every biker's heart beat faster. Our destination is the idyllic lakeside village of Phayao. A must for the evening: freshly caught fish prepared in one of the many variations right by the water.

Day 11. The final stretch through the national park (Phayao – Chiang Mai)

The final leg takes us through a stunning national park and charming coffee villages. We enjoy the winding roads of northern Thailand one last time before rolling back into Chiang Mai in the early afternoon. There's time for a massage or to relax before we celebrate the tour together with a grand farewell dinner.
