Laos Motorcycle Tour:
Your 12-Day Motorcycle Adventure

We collect you from the airport and take you to our comfortable tour hotel in the heart of Chiang Mai. There is time for sightseeing, shopping or relaxing by the pool.

In the evening, we enjoy our first dinner together by the river before exploring the lively atmosphere of the famous night market.

Today, you collect your motorcycle and we set off north. Along the way, we pass hot springs and visit the impressive White Temple, Wat Rong Khun, just outside Chiang Rai.

Our destination is the border town of Chiang Khong, where we spend the night beside the Mekong and catch our first glimpse of Laos on the opposite bank.

After completing the border formalities, we cross the Friendship Bridge into Laos. The scenery becomes wilder as our route leads through the mountains of northern Laos and past ethnic minority villages to Luang Namtha.

We stay at a simple, authentic resort and enjoy our first taste of Lao cuisine.

Around 230 kilometres of rewarding riding await. The road winds through village after village, with spectacular viewpoints across the northern highlands.

We reach Nong Khiaw in the late afternoon. At a small resort on the banks of the Nam Ou, we round off the riding day with a drink and views of the sunset.

After breakfast, we travel through beautiful valleys towards Luang Prabang. This UNESCO World Heritage city welcomes us with its distinctive charm, and we check into our guesthouse on the banks of the Nam Khan.

Spend the evening exploring the handicraft night market or strolling through the historic streets.

Today offers a chance to pause. Relax in the city's cafés or make use of a laundry service. Our guide also offers a trip to one of the region's spectacular waterfalls.

If you still have energy to spare, climb up to Wat Phousi for panoramic views over the Mekong. In the evening, we enjoy dinner at one of the riverside restaurants.

Today's route demands our full attention. After a detour by boat to a hidden waterfall, we tackle mountain passes with bend after bend.

The riding is challenging, with rewarding views of rugged mountain peaks all the way to the valley of Vang Vieng, where our resort with a pool awaits.

We cross the highest pass of the tour at over 1,800 metres. The scenery is as demanding as it is impressive.

After negotiating the steep mountain roads, we stop at a local restaurant before reaching Sayaboury in the evening.

We follow very narrow, winding roads through jungle scenery and remote mountain villages. Around midday, we cross back into Thailand at the Huai Kon border crossing.

In Pua, we enjoy the comfort of our resort and far-reaching views across the gentler hills of Thailand.

A superb riding day awaits as a winding motorcycle road takes us through beautiful mountain scenery. Sweeping bends make travelling towards Phayao a pleasure.

Our destination is the peaceful lakeside town of Phayao. In the evening, try freshly caught fish, prepared in one of the many local styles, beside the water.

Our final stage takes us through an impressive national park and quiet coffee-growing villages. We enjoy Northern Thailand's winding roads once more before arriving back in Chiang Mai in the early afternoon.

There is time for a massage or to relax before we celebrate our journey with a farewell dinner together.
